At Credit Creek Dental, we offer laser dentistry, which can be a precise and effective way to perform many dental procedures.
We have several lasers designed to be used in a variety of specific situations. If you consider yourself somewhat of an anxious dental patient and are seeking extreme safety and comfort, you might consider laser dental procedures, which provides patients with precision treatment that may minimize pain and recovery time.
Benefits of Laser Dentistry:
- Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not require sutures (stitches).
- Certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia.
- Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding because the high-energy light beam aids in the clotting (coagulation) of exposed blood vessels, thus inhibiting blood loss.
- Bacterial infections are minimized because the high-energy beam sterilizes the area being worked on.
- Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized.
- Wounds heal faster and tissues can be regenerated
Lasers can also eliminate the need for the dental drill and reduce patients' fears about treatment.
Credit Creek Dental uses an advanced laser called the Waterlase MD© system that is used to vaporize tooth decay and treatment is virtually painless, sometimes even eliminating the need for anesthesia. The most amazing use for Waterlase MD© is in cavity treatment, in which the laser takes the place of the drill. This means that hairline cracks and other structural damage sometimes caused by vibrating drills are outdated.
Laser dentistry is also used in periodontal gum treatment as it can disinfect gums and pockets in conjunction with cleanings and root planning.
During surgery, it may allow for easier access and visibility to the jaw and bones for placing dental implants for patients with missing teeth or removing them.
For cosmetic enhancements, it also provides an extremely easy and comfortable way to safely reshape their teeth and recontour their gums. *See our Gum Recontouring Video
Uses a non-thermal laser light combined with a photosensitizing solution designed to kill bacteria associated with gum disease. Killing the bacteria halts the progression of the disease and allows healing to begin. Periowave is designed to be used in conjunction with scaling and root planning. At Credit Creek Dental we use this laser to aid in the complete treatment of gum disease. The experience is comfortable, there is no need for needles, the area is easily disinfected halting bacteria, and the biostimulation leads to faster healing.
The exciting use for this laser is the ability to bleach and whiten your teeth in as little as one visit. The dramatic results are achieved most of the time with no discomfort to you or your teeth. The Ezlase is designed for various dental applications, which involve soft tissue and gums. It is great for treatment of gum disease and sore infected gums around erupting wisdom teeth, performing frenectomies, and the easy removal of soft tissue "lumps".
